At our Bush Kinder program, we believe nature is the richest classroom of all. Rooted in our core values of respect, creativity, connection, and care, Bush Kinder offers children the opportunity to learn through meaningful, hands-on experiences in the natural world.
Our sessions are designed to foster life skills and confidence through practical, nature-based activities. Whether it's cooking, identifying local flora and fauna, using real hand tools safely, sparking fires, mastering knots, or building shelters, children are encouraged to explore, inquire, and grow in a nurturing and adventurous environment. Please note, this session incorporates fire safety with fire sparking activities and cooking on open fires.
We focus on learning that engages the whole child—head, heart, and hands—cultivating resilience, cooperation, and a deep respect for the environment. Through rhythm, storytelling, and purposeful play, our program supports each child's emotional and physical development, helping them build a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
Our commitment is to provide a space where children feel safe, free, and connected—to themselves, to others, and to the land. We honour each child’s natural curiosity and creativity, and we guide them gently through experiences that build independence, self-regulation, and a lasting love for the earth.
Session Details:
Weekly sessions run from 10am to 1:00pm from October 6th - 2nd of November
Open to children aged 3 to 6 years with siblings welcome to join with a $10 weekly fee.
$35 per day, paid in advance as a 8-week term enrolment. Unfortunately we won’t be offering drop off sessions this term.
This session will be capped at 17 children including siblings this upcoming term.

The program is designed and facilitated by Maddy, a nature loving mother, environmental scientist and the founder of Little Wildling!
Our program goes ahead in most weather conditions, however in the event of extreme winds or consistent downpour forecasted, we may relocate to a local hall! Please see our weather policy prior to booking.

Any missed sessions throughout the term will have the option to ‘make up’ a session at any of our other locations, at any point of the term! We know life sometimes gets in the way, therefore we do our best to accommodate missed sessions. Please see our cancellation and missed session policies before booking.
Upon booking a term with us, you will receive an information package via email, which we require to be filled out as promptly as possible.

Spring Creek Reserve in Torquay is a beautiful natural corridor where freshwater, wetlands, and coastal landscapes come together, creating a peaceful environment that inspires exploration, curiosity, and a strong connection to nature.
The reserve features a diverse landscape of winding creek lines, grassy open spaces, wetlands, and native bushland, providing an ideal setting for sensory exploration and physical development. Its natural terrain—with gentle walking tracks, uneven ground, fallen logs, and open spaces—offers children opportunities to develop balance, coordination, and gross motor skills through authentic movement, imaginative play, and nature-based adventure.
Home to a rich variety of native flora and fauna, Spring Creek Reserve supports indigenous grasses, wildflowers, river red gums, and an abundance of wildlife including waterbirds, frogs, turtles, insects, and small mammals. The creek itself provides endless learning opportunities as children investigate water flow, observe aquatic habitats, identify local plants and animals, discover life cycles, and develop an understanding of ecosystems through hands-on exploration.
The reserve also holds deep cultural significance, forming part of the traditional lands of the Wadawurrung People. The waterways have long provided important places for gathering, travelling, and sustaining life, offering meaningful opportunities to share Indigenous perspectives, foster respect for Country, and develop an appreciation for the enduring connection between people and the natural environment.
With an abundance of natural resources—including water, stones, reeds, leaves, sticks, mud, and earth—Spring Creek Reserve becomes an open-ended learning environment that encourages creativity, inquiry, resilience, and environmental stewardship. It is a place where children can build, investigate, create nature art, explore the creek, observe wildlife, and engage in meaningful play while immersed in the beauty and rhythms of the natural world.
